Emerging as a work of speculative politics, the images that comprise Informal City are the product of a creative residency I attended in the fall of 2015. Held in the Catalonian capital of Barcelona at Jiwar, the residency placed me in the center of a volatile moment in Catalan politics as the region struggles for independence from Castilian rule. These photographic maquettes are propositions that were condensed from the cloud of political and ethical uncertainty I found myself enveloped in.
